Putting into words the rush of emotions when falling hard for someone is probably one of the toughest situations you can face. So, if you are also someone who has been crushing on someone lately, below is my playlist of the 99 best love songs about a crush.
Once cupid’s arrow has hit you, just being around them makes you excited, makes you smile more, and makes you lose your mind more. You probably even heard the violins in the background.

So here are my picks:
1. “Levitating” by Dua Lipa feat. DaBaby

44. “Daydreamin” by Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande’s “Daydreamin” beautifully captures the dreamy haze of having a crush. The song’s soft, soulful melody mirrors the fluttery, hopeful feelings that come with imagining a future with someone you adore. With its infectious beat and heartfelt lyrics, Britney balances pop energy with emotional depth. “Can’t Make You Love Me” speaks to anyone who has ever hoped for a crush to notice them, only to face the harsh reality that love can’t be forced. It’s a timeless track for navigating the complexities of infatuation.
50. “Girl Crush” by Little Big Town
According to a critic, the song is a jealous ballad. You cannot see your love interest in the arms of someone else. You just want your crush to be with you.
51. “Love to Dream” by Doja Cat
“Love to Dream” from Doja Cat’s album “Scarlet” explores the vulnerable side of having a crush through a dreamy, R&B-influenced lens. The track stands out for its softer approach compared to her usual bold style, with ethereal vocals floating over a melodic beat that mirrors the hazy feeling of daydreaming about someone.
The song captures that familiar feeling of fantasizing about a potential relationship before anything’s even happened, with lyrics that drift between reality and imagination.
Through lines like “I love to dream about you,” Doja perfectly expresses how it feels to be lost in thoughts about someone you’re crushing on, creating an immersive experience that’s both intimate and relatable.
52. “Leave Your Lover” by Sam Smith
The self-explanatory track is a request by Sam to his love interest. He wants her to leave the person she is with because he cannot love her the way he can.

The love song best captures the deep passion you feel for your love interest. Every time you are far away, you feel like a part of you has left.
58. “Tequila” by Dan+Shay
“Tequila” by Dan+Shay isn’t just another drinking song – it’s a poignant story about how certain triggers can bring memories of a past love rushing back. The Grammy-winning country ballad flips the typical party narrative by showing how even a simple taste of tequila can transport you back to moments with someone special.
The song’s emotional power comes from its vivid imagery and the way it connects sensory experiences to memories of a former flame. Through lines like “When I taste tequila, baby I still see ya,” the duo captures how something as simple as a drink can make all those crush feelings come flooding back, even long after the relationship has ended.
59. “Stay” by Zedd, Alessia Cara
In the song, Alessia asks her lover to stay longer with her. The electronic feel of the song with frantic beats is a danceable number you can turn on on a candle night with your loved one.

The song represents a relationship and how it changes as time goes by. The tingles you feel when talking to your crush, even when they are sitting miles away from you, put a smile on your face.
61. “No Promises” by Shayne Ward
Basically, when the singer says “no promises” to his lover, he means that she doesn’t need to promise anything to him. She can make him happy just by staying with her.
62. “That’s The Way It Is” by Celine Dion
In this song, Celine Dion advises never to give up on your lover because faith and love can make everything okay. Every relationship goes through hardships. You will even have doubts about your compatibility but work on it together.
63. “I Wanna Grow Old With You” by Westlife
The artist describes the feeling of love at first sight. This is a deep song that means staying by each other’s side “for better or worse.”
64. “Nonsense” by Sabrina Carpenter
Sabrina Carpenter’s “Nonsense” is a playful anthem that perfectly encapsulates the giddy, chaotic energy of having a crush. With cheeky lyrics and a flirty tone, the song reflects how infatuation can leave you tongue-tied and saying the most ridiculous things.
The catchy beat and Carpenter’s effortless delivery make “Nonsense” irresistibly fun and relatable. It’s a celebration of those butterflies-in-your-stomach moments when your feelings make everything else feel a little upside down. For anyone smitten and slightly speechless, this track hits all the right notes.
65. “Hero” by Enrique Iglesias
The singer talks about how he wants to be the savior of the woman he wants to be with. He also asks her if this is true love? Or has he lost his mind? He is vulnerable in her love but will still try to love her.
66. “Back To December” by Taylor Swift
The song’s storyline is how the singer wants to go back to the past and decide to stay with her crush instead of moving on. Because once it’s late, there is nothing left but to regret your decision.
67. “Shallow” by Lady Gaga feat. Bradley Cooper
Shallow is perhaps one of my favorite songs on this list. It’s about living deep in love and not regretting any of it. The word shallow signifies the time when the couple is with each other.
68. “Fallin’ For You” by Colbie Caillat
The song captures the feeling about the first few weeks of a new relationship with your crush. You keep falling for them in a way you never expected.
69. “Crush” by Tate McRae
Tate McRae’s “Crush” perfectly captures the emotional whirlwind of having feelings for someone.
The song’s relatable lyrics dive into the nervous excitement, overthinking, and vulnerability that come with crushing on someone. McRae’s raw vocals and heartfelt delivery make every line resonate deeply, painting a vivid picture of unspoken emotions and youthful infatuation.
With its catchy melody and intimate vibe, “Crush” is a standout track for anyone who has ever experienced the bittersweet mix of hope and uncertainty that accompanies falling for someone.
70. “Make You Feel My Love” by Adele
Adele’s song “Make You Feel My Love” is the song that gives the voice to millions of lovers who are unable to express their feelings. And let’s face it, while Adele is known for writing a lot of tearjerker breakup songs, she also writes some of the best songs out there about love.
Here, she is dearly in love with someone and wants the guy so much, and you’d do anything for them to make them happy. But her helplessness is apparent because all she can do is keep herself bottled up.
71. “I Want To Hold Your Hand” by The Beatles
“I Want To Hold Your Hand” by The Beatles talks about the narrator’s desire to be in a romantic relationship with the woman he loves. The singer uses appealing words to woo his lady into accepting him as her dream man. He is convinced that his love for her will go a long way.
72. “Flowers” – Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” flips the script on traditional crush songs by focusing on self-love and empowerment. The song’s lyrics celebrate independence and the ability to find happiness within yourself, even after heartbreak. With its catchy melody and relatable message, it resonates deeply with listeners.
While not about longing for someone else, “Flowers” captures the essence of finding strength after infatuation fades. It’s a reminder that loving yourself can be the most fulfilling relationship of all.
73. “Sunflower” by Post Malone
“Sunflower” by Post Malone and Swae Lee, while created for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, transcends its soundtrack origins as a perfect crush anthem. The song’s laid-back melody and sweet lyrics capture that moment when you can’t get someone off your mind and just want to be around them.
The track’s memorable hook “You’re my sunflower, I think your love would be too much” speaks to that mix of admiration and nervousness that comes with intense attraction.
Its gentle production and heartfelt delivery make it relatable whether you’re a superhero swinging through New York or just someone hoping to catch their crush’s attention.
74. “First Date” by blink-182
This track perfectly captures the dilemma of going for your first date and thinking how you want your first date to go perfect so badly but cannot help self-doubt yourself. I know we have all related to this feeling at one point in our lives. But don’t worry.
If you like your crush, boys feel self-conscious too. All you need to do is be yourself.
75. “I Wanna Know” by Joe
Personally, this is one of the numbers I first danced to. I think it’s a great romantic song. It’s about how your crush is broken thinking about a past relationship, and now all you want to do is make them happy.
It perfectly describes those stages where you know that you could do everything to make them happy. The only problem is you don’t know what made them cry.
76. “Crush Culture” by Conan Gray
“Crush Culture” by Conan Gray takes a uniquely cynical yet playful approach to the whole concept of crushing on someone. Rather than celebrating the butterflies and excitement of new love, Gray satirizes the way people act when they’re infatuated, calling out the “crush culture” that makes singles feel like outsiders.
The track’s upbeat indie-pop sound contrasts brilliantly with lyrics that mock the cliché behaviors of couples and those desperately seeking romance.
While it might seem anti-romance on the surface, the song actually resonates deeply with anyone who’s ever felt frustrated by the pressure to find someone or annoyed by their friends who can’t stop talking about their latest crush.
77. “Love You Out Loud” by Rascal Flatts
Well! If you have always been a little shy, talk to your crush and never let your feelings show.
Then, you must include this catchy track by Rascal Flatts in your tracklist of 99 songs to dedicate to your crush. This is ultimately the best song. My favorite line is where the singer says, “Baby, I want the whole world to see just how good your love looks on me!”
78. “we fell in love in october” by girl in red
“we fell in love in october” by girl in red captures the euphoric rush of falling for someone during autumn’s golden days. The indie bedroom pop track perfectly encapsulates those first magical moments of attraction with its dreamy guitar and soft, intimate vocals.
Norwegian singer-songwriter Marie Ulven created an anthem that resonates particularly with young LGBTQ+ listeners, but its themes of seasonal romance and butterflies-in-your-stomach feelings are universal.
The simplicity of lyrics like “my girl, my girl, my girl, you will be my girl” paired with the warm, fuzzy production creates a cozy atmosphere that feels like falling in love on a crisp October afternoon.
79. “U Got It Bad” by Usher
I think this track by Usher is meant for someone who didn’t believe in love first because they just messed around with every girl over a few dates. Until he finds that one girl he could dream his life with, feels obsessed with her now, and is insecure because she might not revert his love- “he doesn’t want to be alone.”
80. “Boyfriend” by Dove Cameron
“Boyfriend” by Dove Cameron flips the traditional crush narrative by confidently asserting she could be better than her crush’s current boyfriend. The pop anthem became a TikTok sensation with its sultry vocals and bold lyrics about pursuing someone who’s already in a relationship.
What makes this track stand out is how it reimagines classic romance tropes through a queer lens, with Cameron singing about treating a girl better than any man could.
The song’s mix of braggadocious energy and vulnerable attraction, paired with its dark pop production, perfectly captures that feeling of knowing you’d be perfect for someone – if only they’d give you a chance.
81. “Like This” by Shawn Mendes
The simple track by Mendes describes the feeling when you are falling in love. You try so hard not to fall in love with your crush, but as they say, it’s always a battle you can never win.
The guy in the song catches feelings for his friend. He tries to resist, but he fails. This unrequited love track expresses this overwhelming feeling.
82. “Why Don’t You Make Up Your Mind?” by Tame Impala
This 2011 release by Australian band Tame Impala is one of my favorite crush songs. It describes how a simple guy likes a girl, and he’s completely unsure if she likes him too.
He grows impatient and thinks he is wasting his time unless the girl gives him any sign. He cannot decide to move on to a new girl but make her his.
83. “I’m On Fire” by Bruce Springsteen
The track may sound like a pedophile singing it, in its literal sense.
But, in music, the meanings behind a song are profound and need a much more clear mind to understand them. The same can be said about this track; now I’m not sure if I could ever have the guts to tell my crush, “I got a bad desire, and I can take you higher.”
84. “I Can Love You Better” by The Chicks
Another great song you could include in your list of songs about the crush is “I Can Love You Better.”
It’s how every lover feels—watching your crush stay in a relationship with someone else who mistreats him. He, too, is caught up in it only to realize that he deserves better. You have no idea that they will ever realize that you can love them better.
85. “Heartbreak Girl” by 5 Seconds of Summer
My interpretation of the song is that the boy is hopelessly in love with his best friend- who has recently broken up with her boyfriend. And now the friend is having trouble getting over the guy. The boy feels friend-zoned, but all he wants is for her to realize that he loves her.
86. “Breathe” by Faith Hill
The massive crossover by country singer Faith Hill, “Breathe,” will make you fall in love with your crush once again. I think the most comforting lines in the track are the ones that suggest that you feel the world is nonexistent when you are around with your lover.
87. “Teardrops On My Guitar” by Taylor Swift
And the word-smith is back. “Teardrops On My Guitar” about an unrequited love interest is based on Taylor’s true experience.
She had a crush on a boy since her school days, and he never reciprocated her love as he already had a girlfriend. This is so unfair. Why does it always have to be?
Every time you find someone, they are already involved with someone. This song is one of Taylor’s earliest, so it’s a country song through and through.
88. “Imagination” by Shawn Mendes
Mendes never fails to impress his listeners with hard-hitting romantic songs.
He mentions a girl who has lived next to his house for his whole life. He hardly ever spoke to her. The guy is too shy to talk to her, so he imagines them together and in a perfect relationship. He wants to tell her everything he feels, but his crush doesn’t know it.
89. “Enchanted” by Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift is the queen of expression.
If you have a crush on someone or have been in love, are heartbroken, felt misunderstood, thinking about reuniting. Taylor has probably already written a song to help you. Enchanted is yet another track that conveys deeper meanings of crushing on someone. The song describes what it feels like to cross paths with your crush.
It chronicles the questions that come to your mind when you see your huge crush for the first time.
90. “Something to Talk About” by Bonnie Raitt
Canadian singer Shirley Eckhard wrote the song, and it was a great success. The track talks about a small-town gossip that has spread about the secret love of the singer and its effects on her. It turns out that the rumored affair is true.
The rumor-spreaders keep asking the singer about her love affair to give them “something to talk about.”
91. “She’s Like The Wind” by Patrick Swayze (ft. Wendy Fraser)
The prevailing story behind the track’s meaning is that the singer has issues with self-esteem.
The singer tries to confess his love to the woman of his dreams. He feels she is probably out of his league because she’s too perfect. The couple gets physically close (feel her breath on my face), but to her, it may just well be a platonic love. Kind of bitter, but he nails the song perfectly.
Of course, this is from the classic Dirty Dancing soundtrack.
92. “Take Your Time” by Sam Hunt
The mid-tempo ballad describes Hunt attempting to impress a woman.
He doesn’t know how to move fast and come on strong. The lines in the song direct towards the lady and sincerely describe the interaction between the stranger woman he is in love with and feels shallow due to lack of words.
93. “My Eyes Adored You” by Frankie Valli
The 1974 single written by Bob Crew and Kenny Nolan, “My Eyes Adored You,” is about unrequited love. Valli sings about a woman he loved from his childhood but never went close to her. He thought she was miles away from him. It is such a sentimental song that cannot fail to remind you of your high-school sweetheart.
94. “Obvious” by Westlife
Who wouldn’t remember the third single from Westlife’s fourth studio album, Turnaround?
Written by Pilot, Savan Kotecha, and Andreas Carlsson, Obvious is a romantic song. It peaked at number three on the UK’s single charts and was initially planned to bid farewell to long-time band member Brian McFadden.
95. “Butterflies” by Kacey Musgraves
“Butterflies” by Kacey Musgraves perfectly captures that giddy, nervous feeling of falling for someone new. The Grammy-winning country-pop song describes how meeting someone special can literally give you butterflies in your stomach and make you feel like you’re floating.
What makes this track especially touching is that Musgraves wrote it shortly after meeting her future (but now ex) husband, making the emotions feel incredibly authentic and raw.
The gentle, dreamy production paired with lyrics like “Now you’re lifting me up, instead of holding me down” creates an atmosphere that mirrors those early moments of attraction when everything feels possible.

Conclusion
Having a crush on someone who is unaware of your feelings- a classmate, a childhood friend, a high school friend, a best friend, or just good friends – is the most painful thing to come across.
The raging hormones in you want to blast off anytime, but you can’t gather the courage to break the silence.
For many, making the bold move to take the lead isn’t always that easy; especially if it’s your first time. You can’t help but hide your emotions and put your best behavior forward.
But the heartache you feel after suppressing what you want to say isn’t healthy.
Honestly, it is better to release the emotions, and if you can’t find the right words, the playlist I just mentioned above will certainly take the load off of you.
